Health Department: 324 vaccine providers in all 64 parishes will receive COVID vaccine this week
These providers - including 139 chain pharmacies, 111 independent pharmacies, 59 federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), 4 rural health clinics (RHCs) and an additional 11 healthcare sites - represent all nine public health regions and 64 parishes of the state.

LDH confirms COVID-19 outbreak connected to Louisiana Classic Wrestling Tournament
The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed an outbreak connected to Louisiana Classic Wrestling Tournament held at Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales on January 15-16, 2021. The Department has received more than 20 reports of athletes, staff and attendees testing positive for COVID-19.

SNAP Benefits Increasing Temporarily Due to COVID, Starting Jan. 8
01.07.2021 - SNAP recipients will see an increase in their benefits for the first six months of 2021, following passage of the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act. The legislation may also make more Louisianans eligible for SNAP by excluding federal unemployment benefits and stimulus checks from consideration as income and by expanding student eligibility.
